Alex January is a French-Italian musician and video artist, currently based in Paris, France.
Tending to favor the analog realm (as real-time manipulation of pure electric current, without any pre-computing element on the way), my approach to modular synthesis is largely based on improvisation and is permeated by notions of hybridation, both stylistic and technical (ie. : interconnection between video and audio signals and between different formats : 3U, 4U, 5U), aiming at investigating new territories with each new recording and live performance.
In the latter I value, above all, the physical, geographical and unpredictable elements that turn each performance into a unique event.
