Bachelard

Bachelard (Heidi Chan) is a musician based in Toronto, Canada. Their diverse musical interests and opportunities have given them a unique sensibility and distinct compositional and performative approaches. Having long been rooted in folk music performance practices on the one hand, and music technologies on the other, Heidi has worked professionally as a Japanese taiko drummer and bamboo flute player, rock drummer, film composer/sound editor/foley artist, live musician and sound designer for theatre and dance, and, most recently, a modular synthesist and performer. Bachelard is an experiment in the personal interpretation and synthesis of all of these paths, which often results in music that naturally eschews any affiliation or reference to predefined genres.
