Galen Disston aka Galenbaby spent a decade as the singer of the Seattle retro-indie band, Pickwick. After experimenting with impassioned vocals and rhythmic arrangements in Pickwick, Galen relocated to Olympia, Washington, the birthplace of alternative music label K Records.
After discovering Make Noise’s retro-inspired synthesizers, Galenbaby started experimenting with simple, somewhat static
textures. “Synthesizer Sketches” explores mostly drum-less evolving sounds originated from a limited set of tools.
On “Volvo Fear” Galenbaby experiments with the stereo field, creating miniature sound worlds for escapism, reflection, and
restoration.
