The Future Poets of Tarneit is the collective personae of Andy Wear, working on behalf of those navigating hope and despair in the dank, cloying bedrooms of suburbia; their fingers crackling across the instruments and tools of liberation, channeling Adorno’s declaration that “…what can oppose the decline of the west is not a resurrected culture but the utopia that is silently contained in the image of its decline.”
Always working on sonic wonders; from sinister industrialism to majestic drone, from hokey synthpop to critical fuzz, there’s something for everyone (or maybe everything for someone?); kindness and subversion in equal parts driving every acton.
The Future Poets of Tarneit create in Naarm, Australia, on land that was never ceded, and always was and always will be Aboriginal land. We pay our thanks and respects to the traditional owners of the lands upon which we live and create – the Wurrundjeri people of the Kulin nations.
